A Sorrowful Day

Yesterday 9/11/2010

my sweet great niece, Lexie, only 10 years old

lost her you her almost lifetime fight with

cancer and passed way.

She was such a sweet , strong fighter and most

always active and happy.

My hubby was on his cell with his

friend who knows Lexie, most folks in

Chillicothe did.

I heard his friend, say Lexie ( his voice comes over

the phone quite clearly) & I knew immediately ...I just sobbed

& sobbed .

I confess I even said

"Oh no, God, why not me ? I am 55 & she is a tender age of

1o . Why God?? it's not fair, Why??

Rich's face fell, he said "dont

say that"

I guess God has more plans for me (& everyone)

Lexie is with God now. She is estatic & total healed.

The Latest News!! IT's Better Than We Thought

All I can say, is thank heavens for headaches!!

That headache that started 2 weeks ago was a warning

sign. I had it for over a week, told my Dr. Mammolito

when I went to her for my follow up (she's my breast surgeon)

Last Tuesday,

she had me go THAT day for a head MRI & had my results

sent to my oncologist (Dr. Prager) that same day. I got a call that late

afternoon.

The headaches are from edema (swelling).. I for sure have tumors

in my brain , they will search for more tomorrow.

Today Rich and I went to "Gamma Knife Center" for

our appt. Tomorrow at 6 AM we will go in for the

radiation procedure. Most of the day, it will be VERY precise

radiation to destroy just the tumors. The docs will do a head MRI

every 8 weeks for about 2 years to watch for more developing tumors.

We are delighted it will be a one time procedure..the outlook is excellent & we are praising God for the ease of it.

Please pray for us tomorrow..I know God will be with us nd all will be fine.. I'm only a BIT cautious of the CROWN

Today is pre-chemo day for me.

Steriods, lots of water & a good night's rest.

No make up, didn't fix my hair, but I showered & 

put on some sweet pj's.

God, Rich & I will be at the Oncologist's at 8 AM for blood tests & CHEMO!!

 I slept great..with the aid of Ambien, up bright eyed

& bushy tailed at 5:15 AM.  

Taking meds, drinking water, eating, got my goodie bag packed.

Rich is going to snow blow the drive..and hopefully the 

snow plow will be through again in a bit.

We got about 6 inches or more..the schools are all closed.

I feel good about today..and I know I'll at LEAST get the

injection to start my bones hardening.

I want to THANK Dolly for my Valentine Swap box,  Mollye for

my KING CAKE from Louisianne to celebrate Mardi Gras

Dana's friend Cyndi for the lotion for when Radiation begins.

I did get OUR WEBSITE updated last night...that

I'll let you know the skinny as soon as I can today.

Blood Tests are at 8:15 AM, then see my oncologist, Diane Prager, then

the plan for the day!!
