Hey there girls..
Are you having a good weekend?
Despite the still cold weather here in Minnesota, my weekend has been good. I was feeling crafty again this weekend so I have a few more things to share with you today.
Last weekend, I altered some plain wooden spools which I had painted a soft shade of pink and I loved how cute they turned out so I decided to make a few more, this time using a robin's egg blue paint to cover the wooden spools.
I used some of the same scrapbook paper as I did on the pink ones, but I also used some new paper to .....
As well as using most of the same types of embellishments. Gotta love those pastel buttons and little snippets of lace...
I even blinged one of them out with just a wee bit of sparkle...
I'd say for those of you out there who are like me and aren't super duper crafty, you should really give these altered spools a little try. They are so easy to make. All you need is some plain wooden spools, craft paint, some pretty scrapbook papers, modge podge, glue, small florals and some small embellishments like the buttons and bling. After you paint the spools and the paint has had a chance to dry, altering them and turning them into something cute like these will take you only a very short amount of time.
Definitely something you should try on a lazy Sunday afternoon.
I have a feeling I'll be making even more of these, but I have to find some more of the wooden spools at the craft store first. Went to Michael's this morning to look for some, but they didn't have any there so I will have to try JoAnn's next.
Now, I must go clean up my crafting table and get it ready for the next project. Enjoy what's left of your weekend and have a great week ahead !!
