Ebay 27/3

These have been up since Tuesday but it has been a very busy week and my blog has suffered :(
One of our cars has broken down and the other could go at any minute. We have all been getting up at @ 5 am to drive Jon to work. It sucks.
On top of that, the Muffia have been getting to me this week. One thing I have learned when it comes to dealing with parents at my children's school - there can be no winners and the losers will be my kids. Unfortunately, unleashing the potty mouth and back handing them is not an
option.

Easter Decorating Part 3 - Center Piece

I had a lot of fun doing this center piece. I started it ages ago and have been adding stuff as I find them.
I am using a new platform now. A vintage mirror tray where I have painted the filigree rim pale green.
The bunny rabbit salt and pepper shakers were a recent thrift shop find. These are a "Leave out all year" item, definitely!
When Jon goes away over easter, I have many plans for the house! All the things that he would have a fit if he knew I was doing them :)
We have an overhead cupboard over the stove. I plan on taking the doors off the center on as it is really shallow and not much use.
I will put it to GREAT use for all my vintage spice jars and salt and pepper shakers.
It's the middle cupboard in the picture below, the one above the rangehood.
The only problem is, it will leave some ugly holes so I will have to work out something that is not permanent to cover it.

Random Thought Coming...

So babies wake up atleast 3 times a night and/or every 3 hours as per my cousin. My biggest fear of having kids is that I'll sleep through them crying at night and now I have to worry about not sleeping at all. I'm afraid of getting married, something about it being definite and "where do we/is there to go from here" about it that frightens me and always thought I'd have a kid before I would ever get married but now I'm not too sure...I love to sleep! LOL I know I hung out with my other cousin this weekend who has a 6 and 4 year old and her 4 year old was alseep by 2am and up by 6:30am and she went to bed at 5am so when does she sleep?!?! She didn't look tired the next day so maybe you get use to not sleeping. I've been trying to re-connect with some old high school friends and most of them have kids, I feel like I'm behind but after this sleep issue I think I'm ok with that. I guess it's all worth it at the end of the day...mostly everything is, right?

Birds on my TV

Well, it is pretty obvious I have a thing for birds lol! Here is a collection that I keep on top of my TV. Not actually my TV, my parents TV that I am borrowing as my old one blew up.
This collection won't stay here much longer as we are getting a thin screen TV. Can't wait as I hate black appliances and I really hate bulky electrical stuff.
TV's always dominate a living room with all the couches and chairs arranged around it. What is funny is that people will always glance at the tv, and keep looking at it EVEN WHEN IT'S NOT ON!

Easter Decorating Part 2 - Bunny Chandeliers

Love using my chandeliers for holiday decorating. I kept them pretty simple. I have just hung a couple of pink bunny baskets on my two living room chandeliers.
And I just had to play around with the image on photo shop :)
We saw a movie preview this morning - "Meet The Robinsons." An animated Disney movie. The kids liked it and there were some amusing bits. Definitely a kids movie, though.
A lot of upset people (mainly MEN) who couldn't cope with being seperated from their cell phones for a couple of hours. They had to take all phones and cameras due to video piracy.
I hate mobile phones. There is a Stephen King book called "Cell" where most of civilization is turned into murderous zombies due to a pulse emitted from cell phones. The only people left were people like me who hate cell phones! Stephen King hates them too apparently.
I do have a phone (pink of course) but it is never charged!

Bloc Party...a bit boring maybe

If it can be broke then it can be fixed
If it can be fused then it can be split
It's all under control
If it can be lost then it can be won
If it can be touched then it can be turned
All you need is time

We promised the world we'd tame it, what were we hoping for?

A sense of purpose and a sense of skill
A sense of function but a disregard
We will not be the first, we won't
You said you were going to conquer new frontiers,
Go stick your bloody head in the jaws of the beast

If I've said this once I've said it a million times...I love Bloc Party and when I'm happy I listen to Bloc Party, when I'm sad I listen to Bloc Party, when I'm upset I listen to Bloc Party, when I'm eh...well you get the picture. They play in NYC this weekend, well next weekend and I'm going to see them...I can't wait - I love them LOL. I woke up early to get these tickets and this morning I woke up early again to get tickets to see The Bravery and Modest Mouse (this is another fav of mine.) I love concerts - the live music just makes me want to do the cockaroach dance LOL. (I'm so corny)

Onto non Bloc Party/concert news...I'm still sick. I have this cough that just won't budge and it's not a nice "I have a tickle in my throat" cough it's a hacking "OMG what does this girl have and is it contagious?" type cough. I had this patient the last 2 days who had the same cough (only worse) and everytime my patient coughed I'd cough right with him. Then it's hard for me to breath - it just feels like my lungs aren't expanding to full capacity. My dad has been smoking around me my entire life (then I smoked for a few years myself thinking it was cool) so who knows what shape my lungs are in. The doctor doesn't seem to be too worried but he's not the one who can't breath. I keep saying I'm going to find a new doctor but when your doctor is 2 blocks away from you it's hard leave.

I finally broke down and decided to leave Nextel. The service since the merge with Sprint is just horrible. It's like I'm paying not to have service. I see some people on the subway platform and they're chatting away on their phones and I look at my screen and it says No Service, it's so annoying. So I'm going with Verizon and (this is the exciting part) I got a Treo :-) I will now have internet access with me all the time! I can't wait until it comes in, it should be here next week sometime. I'm going to d/l my drug guide into it and then I can get rid of my handheld and carry less. I made Kelly get the same phone although he really has no use for it - I just wanted us to be twins...

Not much stitching has gone on, work, as always, has cut into my stitching time. I've also been playing Sims a lot too. I played all day yesterday. My sim just had another baby and her sim husband is working hard to get that next promotion to take care of the ever growing family so I've been busy. I have been itching to start something new. I don't know what it is about putting those first stitches on fabric that's so exciting...on my last stash shopping trip I bought fabric for a few pieces I want to stitch as well as a few new charts. One of the charts I kitted up while there since I've been eyeing it on someone else's blog (forget the blog so I can link it) and while at my not so LNS the Rosewood Manor trunkshow was there and the project was there framed so I couldn't resist! It's And a Forest Grew and it's HUGE! Well it's huge in my book, I'm pretty sure there are bigger out there.

Ok I'm off to eat lunch - I've been trying to lose weight and so far have managed to lose 8 lbs. I guess it really does matter whether you're eating in moderation and walk a little more. I want to start working out soon (I did for about 2 weeks then got sick) so the weight loss is actually a great push towards doing more.

Oh before I leave...I still have one more spot for my PIF if anyone is interested. I have the others in envelopes already I just have to stop procrastinating and mail them out. Just drop me an email if you're interested. And thanks to those who left me comments on my frame...I still haven't hung it up on the wall and really should do that soon. Okies TTYL!

Easter Decorating Part 1 - Bird Bouquet

I have had most of my Easter decorations up for a while. Of course, I keep adding to them when I find something in a thrift shop, craft store or even the odd retail shop.
Finally, I took lots of photos today and thought I would start with my "Bird Bouquet."
The pretty coloured birds are some of the ones I got off eBay for Christmas. The cute Easter Bunny finger puppet is from "Bed, Bath & Table."
I am thinking I will leave the birds on after Easter - they are just too cute!

I had heaps of fun playing around with this image with photoshop. As you can see, I am using this as my banner at the moment.

I'm Inspired

Here are some pics of Kim's newly re-designed bathroom. She did the work herself, and I think i'm in love with it! Her blog is Desire To Inspire (one of my faves so far). For more on this awesome bathroom redesign visit her blog site. Thanks Kim!

EDGY

Zilon is a painter and a musician. He has been Montreal's angry Punk street artist for more than 25 years. His work is quite interesting and I wanted to share some of my favorites here. I discovered his art when I visted Desire to Inspire Blog and noticed Kim's new bathroom decor. There on the wall was the Dior Addict piece by Zilon. You can see much more of his work on his site Zilon Sonic. Very Rock n' Roll and i LOVE rock n roll!

Shannon's Pink Kitchen

Shannon has been an online friend of mine now for years. Both being addicted to pink, we bumped into each other on ebay while feeding our addictions!
She sells the most gorgeous art and crafts including paintings, revamped furniture and yummy faux cupcakes.

Here is her divine kitchen and all I can say is her husband must be even more tolerant than mine!
She has painted all her cabinets a pretty pale pink and what kitchen is complete without a cat sleeping on the bench?!

I love how she has painted roses on her archway in her kitchen. I have a similar opening in my kitchen and would love to do something like this using wallies.

Here are some of her gorgeous cupcakes and as usual just looking at them makes me want to have a massive sugar binge!

Suzanne Novik Interiors.....Classic & Beautiful!

I enjoyed her portfolio and think she is quite talented as an interior designer. Suzanne likes to mix classic elements with something fresh and new. She believes that the client's home should reflect their personality in taste, style and color. I totally agree. Here is some of her beautiful work and more on her website: Suzanne Novik Interiors .

No UGLY Wallpaper here please

So many people are getting into these really interesting looking wallpapers lately. I admit, i am not a huge lover of wallpaper, because I once bought a wallpaper infested home, and it was the worse hassle removing it from the walls. (90% of the house was covered, even ceilings) Plus it wasn't this type of wallpaper. The stuff in my old house was from like the 80's! However, i have to say, this new stuff is real pretty and you can actually make a room look good. So, here are a few i liked from Romo Fabrics.

Ebay 22/3

Beautiful beaded clutch bag, vintage of course!

Pretty aqua and pink roses porcelain hand painted dish.

Gorgeous old Australian metal spice jars. My eyes have really been opened up to yellow lately. I have just found out after 13 years that my mother in law's fave colour is yellow. @#$%^ MEN! It would have been so much easier buying presents for her if Jon had let me know this 13 years ago! Now that I do I have found her birthday and Christmas present for this year - easy peasy!

New pretty pink Robert Gordon butter box. Isn't the cow on the lid cute?

I would so be keeping this cute figurine if she was a different colour! Wouldn't she be fantastic in a sewing or craft room? Her hat has a pincushion and she has a holder for scissors on her skirt. She can also hold a spool of thread in her hands!

More yellow! Vintage Japanese honey or jam pot.

Vintage fish wall pocket vase - I had this in my bathroom for a while. The colours are so vibrant.

Gorgeous Fendi heels. I wish I was the sort of girl who could wear these but if I don't have a back on my heels I am sure to end up flat on my face!
You can see in the background the little chest of drawers I recently painted pale green.

Royal Albert "Old Country Roses" tin canister.
