Teacup Tuesday - Week 15

Hello Ladies and Happy "Teacup Tuesday" to all of you.

I hope you all had a wonderful weekend and an early start to your week. My weekend was nice and relaxing after doing a little overtime work from home early Saturday morning. The weather here in Minnesota wasn't the greatest though between the rain on Saturday and what felt like hurricane force winds on Sunday, so instead of spending time outside like I was hoping to, most of the time was spent in the house cleaning, organizing and working on my Decorating Scrapbooks which I haven't done in quite some time.

If you are a newer visitor to my blog and you are wondering what my "Decorating Scrapbooks" are, click here to read one of my older posts from last year where I shared about how I turn stacks of decorating magazines into personalized Decorating Scrapbooks just for me.

Now, on to the purpose of today's post....This weeks offering for Teacup Tuesday is a lovely Regency English Bone China teacup that I found in a wonderful Antique & Gift shop located just across the border from Minnesota in the charming town of Osceola Wisconsin. Osceola sits along the St. Croix River which divides the states of Minnesota and Wisconsin.

Osceola is less than an hours drive from my house, so I try and get there a few times a year. I discovered this shop about 3 years ago after finding their business card displayed in an antique store I frequently visit in Stillwater Minnesota. As I'm always on the hunt for new antique shops to visit, I knew it was definitely worth checking out and boy was I ever glad that I did, because the gift shop part of the store has a wonderful selection of gorgeous teapots and teacups and I knew right away that I would love visiting this shop over and over again.

While I do have matching teapots for several of my teacups, sadly, I don't have one for this teacup, although the funny things is, my younger sister does. My sister had found a teapot with this same floral pattern years ago either at TJ Maxx or Marshall's. I wonder if she would ever be willing to give me her teapot so that I will have matching set. Maybe someday she will give it to me as a surprise gift.

As always, thanks for stopping by for a visit. Please continue with your Teacup Tuesday journey and pay a visit to these lovely ladies to see what they are sharing for Teacup Tuesday this week. They would love to have you stop by for a visit.

Sadly, Katie from Rose Breeze Boutique won't be joining us this week as her Mother-In-Law passed away on Saturday and she wasn't able to get a post ready for today. Please stop by Katie's blog anyway to extend your condolences. I'm sure she would love to hear from you.

Have a great week and come back again next week to see what Teacup I will be sharing next time....

Oooh! Gift Ideas....!

More of my home update.....

There used to be nothing in this area of my kitchen, now it's a pretty & stylish breakfast nook for two. The scoop-back chairs are from West Elm (originally yellow) & I painted them in 'La Fonda Mirage' by Valspar. Chevron (zig zag) rug by West Elm (on sale in store) & the Finley Pendant Lamp by Crate & Barrel. Oh, and I got the table on sale via West Elm as well! The flowers may be a tad bit too large, I may bunch them up & place them into a smaller vase. What do you think so far?

Just one copy of Hus & hum please!

More beautiful images to start off the week from Hus & Hem Magazine. I love this magazine & wish I could get my hands on a copy ......just one please! :)

My Crazy Obsession With Tea Things....

Hello Ladies....

Happy Thursday to all of you. I hope you have all been having a good week so far. My week has been pretty good, although I am still extremely busy at work which makes the days fly by. Maybe that's a good thing though, as it makes the weekends come faster....LOL

Thanks to Katie @ Rose Breeze Boutique, this week you are getting a little something extra when it comes to my crazy obsession for Teacups and all things related to Tea. Katie has been one of my regular "Teacup Tuesday" participants and her post this week featured a darling little magnet that she had made with a small piece of needlepoint in a Teapot design. After seeing Katie's post with her cute magnet, I thought it would be fun to share with all of you some of my refrigerator magnets that just like Katie's, have a Tea theme. While I don't show a picture of my actual fridge, I can tell you that the freezer door is covered with all kinds of magnets. These are just the ones related to Tea (the first one is my favorite....)

That's all for today..... Hope you enjoyed another glimpse into my crazy obsession of things related to Tea..

What is your crazy obsession???????

Deeply Madly in LOVE framed....thanks Mandi

Thanks to Mandi from Shoestring Home blog, for sending this pic of the Deeply Madly in Love Print. I really like the way she placed it into that gorgeous ornate frame. I bought some similar frames at this Ebay shop & will be launching a NEW design in one of them, can't wait! You can get this Deeply Madly screenprint via my shop. Thanks Mandi.

This baby was peeking out for FOOd!!
They are out of the nest now & I hope safe.

Feels like falling in LOVE....

Tonight I had a craving for cupcakes.....so I baked these gluten free dark chocolate ones. I don't know about anyone else, but when I have a chocolate dessert I don't like being bothered. I like to drift away into that dreamy state it puts me in.......it's like falling in LOVE all over again.

Jimena Rios....que Guapa.

Please take a look at designer, Jimena Rios. Her Jewelry is definitely one of a kind! I bought one of her sterling silver rings last year and it's still one of my favorite pieces. Mine was customized to say "Be Strong". Lately, I have been thinking of getting her 'guapa' necklace, (it means 'Pretty' in Spanish)....but, you can gave her engrave your name instead! Just email her via her shop & tell her what you'd like...it's that easy. Check her out here!

Ok, so this is what I decided.....

Below (2nd pic) is one of my guest bedrooms & this is the fabric I decided to go with from Fabric Supplies via Etsy. It's around $7.00/yd versus $90/yd for the Rubie Green 'Marilyn' fabric. Don't get me wrong, I LOVE the RG, but perhaps I'll save that expense for the master bedroom. I think this fabric I chose is close enough & my guy may even try to re-create the same headboard in her photo (with the cute shape). Either way, I'll keep you all posted with photos of the projects in my home!

Teacup Tuesday - Week 14

Hello my friends and welcome to another addition of "Teacup Tuesday".

This week, I have something a little different to share. Prepare yourself!!!

It's the one and only teacup in my collection that surprisingly is quite simple with no floral design. Yep, you heard right. I actually have a teacup that has no design or florals on it....

Despite there being no floral pattern on this teacup which is usually one of the things I am first drawn to, this charming teacup drew my attention mostly because of it's creamy soft yellow color. I love this shade of yellow and am always on the lookout for vintage style items in this color to add to my yellow collection. This teacup fits in perfectly with my collection.

I like the fact that having a solid color teacup lets me mix & match it very easily with my other china pieces. As you can see here, I chose to display it layered on a blue and rose floral desert plate and against a backdrop of a small china tray in the same pattern as the desert plate. The desert plate and china tray also have touches of yellow in the floral pattern and displaying them with the solid yellow teacup allows the yellow in the floral pattern to pop and be more noticeable.

I hope you enjoyed seeing something a little different from me today. Now, please take the time to visit these lovely ladies to see what they are sharing for this weeks "Teacup Tuesday".

Wishing you all a wonderful and happy week. See you soon!!

I'm a fan of Rubie Green....

Michelle of Rubie Green has some of the prettiest & most refreshing fabrics out there. She lives in a tiny (but stylish) apartment in Harlem, New York & was featured in the most recent issue of Real Living Australia. I'm currently looking to reupholster the headboard in my main guest bedroom & I'd L-O-V-E three yds of the 'Marilyn' or 'Patsy' fabrics! Oh....should I spend the $ ?? They're so stunning!! Do any of you own Rubie Green Fabric??? If so, which??

I'm seeing YELLOW.....

I'm liking the color YELLOW more & more these days. Especially after buying this sofa from Urban Outfitters for my home office. Here are a collection of images from Canadian House & Home with hints of yellow. Enjoy your Monday, I am off to the dentist to get some cavities filled, that's what I get for eating lots of sweeeets!
